By using Postmarks, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Health and Fitness Data
With your permission, Postmarks accesses your device's Health app or Google Fit to read your step count and walking distance. This data is used solely to calculate your progress on walking routes. We do not store raw step count data on our servers.
2.2 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and may collect an optional display name. We use this information to authenticate you and provide personalized features.
2.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information about how you interact with the Service, including:
- Device information (device type, operating system version)
- App usage statistics (features accessed, stamps collected)
- Route progress and completion data
- Crash reports and error logs
2.4 Subscription Information
If you purchase a Postmarks Premium subscription, we receive transaction information from our payment processor (RevenueCat/Apple App Store/Google Play Store). We do not collect or store your payment card details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Postmarks Service
- Calculate your walking progress and unlock stamps
- Personalize your experience (journal entries, achievements)
- Send you important updates about the Service
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve our app
- Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our Service
4. Data Storage and Security
We use Firebase (Google Cloud) to store your account data, route progress, stamps, and journal entries. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service.
While we implement appropriate security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third parties who help us operate the Service (e.g., Firebase, RevenueCat, analytics providers)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request
